Johanan ben Nuri

Johanan ben Nuri
(fi.2nd cent)
   Palestinian tanna. Living in poverty, he influenced the formulation of laws and customs of the Jews in Galilee. He is often mentioned in the Mishnah as taking part in debates with Akiva.
